Description of the workshop: Enamel is the permanent fusion of the two materials metal and glass. For more than two millennia, gold and silversmiths have been using the “enamel” medium to add color to their works. Its depth and quality remain unmatched to this day and cannot be replaced by any other material. The variety of colors and techniques offer the creative enamel artist an inexhaustible range of possible applications. The focus of this seminar will be on experimental and handicraft enamelling. It can be worked on and in the surface as well as in the form. Step 1 consists of getting to know the basics of enamelling and then experimenting and making the experiments repeatable. Afterwards, various enamel techniques, such as cell enamel technology, pit enamel technology, enamel painting technology and industrial enamel technology, are taught.
